Steps out in February, his body doesn’t shiver
His eyes don’t tear up and his spine doesn’t quiver
Winter has no affect, even with a dry liver
Cold heart keeps him from flinching when the wind delivers
Scientists would say it’s unhealthy how his temperature’s low
Therapists would say he’s unstable, his emotions don’t show
Teachers would say he needs help, but inside he knows
his darkness was born of enlightenment - no incognito
He knows he can’t change how the story unfolds
No powder, plant, or potion will warm a heart so cold
All the writings on the walls are painted in gold,
written clearly in bold and embedded in his soul;
Says that diamonds can glisten but his money won’t glow
Couldn’t afford to keep it together, everything sunk below
Once whole-hearted til half departed, blamed her for his heart of stone
until he realized how unfair it was for her to be in love alone
Can’t expect someone to stick around while you always roam
Lose yourself in another and you can’t stand on your own
This crazy game of life finds a way to make us damage-prone
Even the very smartest of the dumbest eventually knows
life is far from a fairytale. In truth, reality blows
There’s only so far you can go, so much you can claim to know;
Achievements become appeasements all on the same plateau
The longer you play, the more you lose interest in property and dough
Vehicles aren’t as attractive if you ride in them alone
Sooner or later, excitement dies down when it’s time to pass Go
